Thornaby FC is thrilled to announce that its partnership with Steel Benders UK has expanded this season, seeing the Teesside-based company officially become the club’s new kit sponsor.
This increased level of support was proudly displayed for the first time on Saturday, with the men’s first team wearing the new home strip in their Ebac Northern League game at Shildon.
The women’s side also debuted the kit in their Adobe Women’s FA Cup qualifying match at Teesdale Park against FC St Helens.
Thornaby is delighted to strengthen its relationship with the steel bending, forming and profiling specialists, building on a partnership that focuses on supporting the local community and Thornaby FC’s vision for growth.
Phil Anderson, Operations Director at Steel Benders UK, said: “Our initial partnership with Thornaby FC was a great success, and we are proud to escalate that support by becoming the official kit sponsor this season.
“We are committed to investing in the local community, and this is a major step up for us. This isn’t just about football, it’s about helping a community thrive, and Thornaby FC is hugely important to that particular town and area.
“We previously only sponsored grassroots teams, so taking on the men’s and women’s main kit sponsorship at a semi-professional club that is focused on future growth presents an exciting new challenge, and we are looking forward to enjoying the action down at Teesdale Park.”
Steel Benders is the largest steel bending company in the North-East, specialising in forming steel sections into specific, precise shapes.
The company, which is based in Middlesbrough and is in the process of moving its operations to Hartlepool, provides a critical range of services including press braking, plate rolling and tube bending.
Steel Benders’ expertise is essential for various high-profile industries such as renewable energy, marine and construction.
The partnership arrives at a pivotal time for Thornaby FC, with the men’s team looking to establish themselves in the Ebac Northern League Division One following promotion, while the women’s team has started life in the North-East Regional Women’s League unbeaten this season.
Ryan McKnight, Thornaby FC’s Operations Director, said: “Having a company of Steel Benders UK’s reputation and local standing choose to partner with us as our main kit sponsor is a massive vote of confidence in the direction we’re heading.
“Their commitment to supporting the local community and their belief in our club’s unified vision – spanning our successful men’s side, our thriving women’s team, and our expanding youth structure – is exactly the kind of strong partnership we want. We are incredibly proud to have their name front and centre on our home shirt.”
