Thornaby FC Women are delighted to announce the appointment of Curtis Collantine as First Team Manager.
Curtis joins the club ahead of a crucial promotion push, bringing with him a wealth of experience as both a player and coach, alongside a modern, ambitious approach that aligns perfectly with the club’s vision.
A product of the Middlesbrough Academy, Curtis enjoyed a strong playing career with clubs including Bradford City, Salisbury, Marske United, Billingham Synthonia, Grangetown, and Billingham Town. His journey through the game has been shaped by working under some of the most respected names in football, helping to form a coaching philosophy centred on high standards, player development and winning environments.
As a UEFA B Licence coach, Curtis has built an outstanding reputation across the region. His coaching CV includes roles within the Middlesbrough Academy, a successful spell stabilising Grangetown’s Men’s First Team, and a remarkable turnaround at Teesside Erimus FC—where he transformed a team without a win in two years into an undefeated, title-winning side, earning national recognition.
Curtis officially took charge of his first training session tonight, beginning preparations for his first match in charge: an away fixture against Sunderland West End on Sunday 4th January.
Speaking ahead of the challenge, Curtis expressed his excitement about building a forward-thinking, positive and attacking team while maintaining organisation, resilience and strong defensive foundations. His long-term vision focuses not only on success on the pitch, but also on strengthening the club’s identity within the community and inspiring the next generation of female footballers in the area.
